Originally from the Dominican Republic, José Bourget grew up in a small Hispanic church in Detroit, MI. They empowered him to give all for God's Kingdom. Since then José has sought to engage others to do the same. He believes the world needs people who embrace the uniqueness that their Creator gave them to bring healing and hope.
As a student leader at Andrews University, he co-founded faith experiences involving worship and reaching the city of Chicago. Following his studies, José continued creating inspiring faith experiences through community and volunteerism in Chicago as Youth Pastor of the North Shore Church, Pastor of the Lakeview Church, and the Young Adult Ministries Coordinator for the Illinois Conference. Subsequently, he served as Assistant Director at the Center for Youth Evangelism. In 2011, he joined the Pioneer Memorial and Campus Ministries team serving as a Campus Chaplain. Drawing from Matthew 25, José's ministry is marked by practical, relevant, and meaningful strategies and outcomes. Wherever he is working His spiritual gifts encourage authenticity, innovation, and caring for the wellness of people.
Presently, José Bourget continues innovating inter-generational engagement on the campus of Andrews University as Executive Pastor of Pioneer Memorial Church. Joining him in this journey are his wife, Dr. Christine Ramirez, and their two beautiful young children, Sophia and Jonah. As a family they are foodies, frequenting Lake Michigan, and laughing at silly things.
