Taurus Montgomery is the pastor of Pioneer’s Benton Harbor Outreach, Harbor of Hope. Having grown up in the southern inner city of Mobile, Alabama, Taurus is familiar with the struggles and challenges facing urban youth today. From the age 12 to 19, he was trapped in the lifestyle of crime, fast money, and drug abuse that led to poor decision-making, low academic performance, and wasted athletic opportunities. Things took a turn after one night of devastation changed his destination. Since that day, he has completed undergraduate studies from Oakwood University and a Masters degree from Andrews University, respectively. Having triumphed through the adversities of growing up in the "hood," he is uniquely equipped to speak convincingly to today’s youth that all things are possible when you put God first. He resides in Benton Harbor with his wife Nicole and they have three children, Jasmine, Taurus, Jr., and Daniel.
