Last Sabbath, we launched the Pioneer Sacred Series with a wonderful concert that reminded us of God’s Boundless Love and our need to Dig a Little Deeper into it. The voices of Paulo, Narda, Abel, Kaoma, and Tony soared through beautiful melodies and tight harmonies, inviting everyone to join in praise to Jesus, the only One worthy of glory.

But it wasn’t their voices, the tender tones of the strings, or the masterful piano playing by Derek, Daniel, Monica, or Phillip that stood out to me. It wasn’t the guitar, the bass, or the percussion. Nor was it the audience that filled the Sanctuary and shared the moment.

It was the sweet, sweet Spirit who, in a gentle whisper, assured us that God is not done with us. He is still standing at the door and knocking, waiting for each one of us to open the door and let Him in. And when we open the door and let Him in, He transforms our lives completely. We can’t keep God to ourselves or reserve Him for just one day a week. We can’t hide Him. That’s how love works: everyone should notice when we are in love! And that’s how God shares His love with us.

Jesus became one of us. He walked where we walk, spoke our language, suffered our pain, faced our problems, lived among us, and died for us! That’s love!

Are we loving in the same way? Does our family know that we love them? Do our neighbors know? Do our coworkers know? Do our enemies know? And… do we love them?

We certainly are sinners saved by grace, and God’s love can fill our hearts. God’s love overflows so we can love each other, because God loves all His children, and He wants us to be His representatives so that they, too, can know His love. That is why He sent Jesus: to reveal His love to humanity. And now, He is sending you and me. In the book Steps to Christ, Ellen G. White writes:

“The children of God are called to be representatives of Christ, showing forth the goodness and mercy of the Lord. As Jesus has revealed to us the true character of the Father, so we are to reveal Christ to a world that does not know His tender, pitying love.”

May you and I be instruments in God’s hands, sharing His love with the world. That is what Jesus expected to happen, and that is how we should be known for. Jesus said, “By this everyone will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another.” And later, when he prayed for them, “I have made you (God) known to them, and will continue to make you known in order that the love you have for me may be in them and that I myself may be in them.”

As Ellen G. White writes, “In everyone of His children, Jesus sends a letter to the world.”
