Frequently Asked Questions

Have questions before your first visit? You’re not alone. Here are answers to some of the things people most commonly wonder about before coming to Pioneer for the first time.

Why do you worship on Saturday?

As a Seventh-day Adventist church, we observe the Sabbath on Saturday, the seventh day of the week, in keeping with the biblical account of creation and the fourth commandment. We believe the Sabbath is God’s gift to us — a weekly invitation to rest, worship, and reconnect with Him and with each other. If you’re curious to learn more, our pastors and members are always happy to talk about it, and you’re welcome to join us any Saturday regardless of your background or beliefs.

Do I need to be Seventh-day Adventist to attend?

Not at all. Pioneer is open to everyone, regardless of background, belief, or denomination. Whether you’re exploring faith for the first time, visiting from another church tradition, or simply curious, you are genuinely welcome here. We’re glad you’re considering joining us.

Will I feel out of place if I don’t dress up for church?

There is no dress code at Pioneer, and you will not be turned away for what you wear. That said, we want to be honest — this community does tend to dress on the more formal side for Sabbath worship, so you may notice that many attendees come dressed up. You won’t be unwelcome in casual clothes, but it’s worth knowing what to expect so there are no surprises. Come as you are, and focus on what matters most: the worship experience.

Who do I talk to if I have more questions when I arrive?

Our greeter team is stationed at the main entrances — at the west entrance near the parking lot and at the north entrance at the front of the building. They are your best first stop for any questions when you arrive. If for any reason you don’t connect with a greeter, our deacons are also present throughout the building and happy to point you in the right direction.

Is there a bulletin or order of service I can follow along with?

Yes! Our weekly bulletin includes the full order of service so you can follow along throughout the program. Printed copies are available when you arrive, and a digital version is also uploaded to our online service page each week for those joining remotely or who prefer a digital copy.

How long are your services, and do you stream online?

We offer two Saturday services. The first service opens with music at 8:55 AM, with the program beginning promptly at 9:00 AM and wrapping up around 10:15–10:20 AM. The second service opens with music at 11:40 AM, with the program starting at 11:45 AM and typically concluding between 1:20–1:30 PM, though it occasionally runs until around 1:45 PM. All times are Eastern. If you can’t join us in person, both services are streamed live right here on our website, on our Facebook page, and on our YouTube channel. Can’t watch live? No problem — sermons and past services are archived here on our website, uploaded to Facebook, and available on our YouTube channel so you can catch up on your own time.
