Who We Are

LOVE ON THE MOVE

Over the summer and fall of 2019 Pioneer underwent significant physical renovation—including a new roof and a major Sanctuary makeover. During the same time congregation leaders engaged in multiple conversations about our missional renovation—how does a faith community like Pioneer seriously engage and impact the people around us for Christ? From this dialogue emerged a fresh new expression of our Pioneer mission: "Love on the Move."

OUR MISSION

"Out of His deep love for humanity, God changes our lives and asks us to move His love into our community and world. We are uniquely positioned at Andrews University to share the story of God's love from the residence halls to the farthest parts of the earth. We accomplish our mission by engaging people across generations to be disciples of Jesus through the process of Connect. Grow. Serve. Go."

FOLLOWING JESUS IN 4 STEPS

We help lead people to follow Jesus through 4 steps. Step 1: Connect with God through biblical teaching and inspiring worship. Step 2: "Grow" in your relationship with God and with others by joining a Grow Group. Step 3: There are countless ways to "Serve" here in the church and in the neighborhood. The best way to serve is where you're using your God-given gifts, talents, and passions. Step 4: "Go" moves you outside the church and into your world.

PIONEER STORIES

Do you have a story of how you reflect a life of love towards others? Or perhaps your story is how someone shared that gift with you. If so, we would love to share your story so others may also be inspired in the same way.

LIVING IT OUT

The core of "Love on the Move" captures the way our Lord Jesus himself lived among us. "He [who was Love incarnated] went about doing good" (Acts 10:28). Who doesn't want to live like that? You're invited to take a 13-week journey through the short classic Steps to Christ. Each week read one chapter, then write down your personal reflections in the accompanied reading guide.
