“The Promise: ‘I Will Do a New Thing’”

www.pmchurch.tv

□ The Plot

 Daniel Burnham, Chicago architect: “Make no small plans, for they do not contain the magic to stir men’s souls.”

□  The Promise

  •   Isaiah 43:19-21
  •   Isaiah 44:1-3
    • Water = Floods = My Spirit = My Blessing
  •   John 7:37-39
    • Water = Rivers = Holy Spirit = Blessing
  •   Desire of Ages: “Only to those who wait humbly upon God, who watch for His guidance and grace, is the Spirit given. The power of God awaits their demand and reception. This promised blessing, claimed by faith, brings all other blessings in its train. It is given according to the riches of the grace of Christ, and He is ready to supply every soul according to the capacity to receive.” (672 emphasis supplied)
  •   Ron Clouzet: “Admittedly, in the vast areas of the western world, we are a church in decline. Our preoccupation for the things of the world, and our searing blindness to our true condition, have made of us—who have talent, resources, and much history in Jesus—a puny spiritual people. We really are terminally ill, but little do we know it. We’ve been medicating for so long that we don’t know what health is like any more. . . . What we desperately need is a double dose of spiritual aid—a revelation of the character of Christ and a thorough baptism of the Spirit.” (Adventism’s Greatest Need 184)

□  The Proposal

  •   “If you will find voice and time to pray, God will find time and voice to answer.”

    (Prayer 100)

  •   Would you be willing to join me in praying every day this summer for God to

fulfill His promise to do “a new thing” in our midst this coming school year?

  •   Would you be willing to daily ask Him to begin His “new thing” by pouring out His Spirit on you?

    Pray His Promise

Pioneer Operating Budget

Author Melvin Santos Speaking: For many years gardening was often a challenge to us. It seemed like the vegetable plants we planted and cared for preferred to die! We never harvested anything. It was very disappointing. Every year, we would try again but with the same results.

Finally, after watching enough YouTube channels on how to garden successfully, we learned that you need to have the right soil, watering system, and care. So we followed the recommendations. For the first time, we were able to grow tomatoes, kale, and zucchinis. We were amazed to see such a big harvest. Gardening became one of our favorite hobbies in the summer!

One of the things we learned was to plant several dozen varieties of vegetables. Not just one kind! We wanted to produce enough crops so we could share with our neighbors. We were able to do just that this past summer.

The apostle Paul used farming terminology to convey the principles of giving. “But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully” (2 Corinthians 9:6, NKJV). Likewise, remember that when we return our tithes and offerings, every time we give liberally, we are sowing bountifully so we can also reap bountifully. God will multiply the funds we give back to him. His miracles will abound!
