PMC EMERGENCY PROCEDURES
The Safety Team is currently preparing a safety guide that will be placed in each room. The guide will provide resources for leaders to help you stay safe. In addition to the guide, maps will be posted on the wall in each room, indicating the location of alarm pull stations, fire extinguishers, and exit routes.
TRAINING AND DRILLS
Training will be offered to our leaders in preparation for an emergency and evacuation. A drill will be scheduled following the training to simulate an evacuation. The goal is to have the fire drill sometime before the start of the new school year in the fall.
SABBATH MORNING SAFETY OFFICER
During our Sabbath morning worship hours a Safety Officer is identified (typically someone on our deacon team). In the event of an evacuation or shelter in place, please follow the instructions provided.
EVACUATION PROCEDURE 1-2-3
In the event a fire alarm is activated or the audible paging system tells you to evacuate, follow these three instructions:
1. Remain calm.
2. Locate the nearest exit, leave your belongings, and exit the building.
3. Follow instructions from the safety team and do not re-enter the building until told to do so.
If an evacuation is needed during church, you can also direct your attention to the screens for evacuation procedures. A fire drill will be scheduled sometime before school starts.
