Best Buddies Friendship Walk

Best buddies is a worldwide organization that fosters relationships between individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities with others in the community. This April there will be a friendship walk on the Andrews campus. This will help us raise money for the organization, which then helps other chapters to be opened in new schools as well as programs in schools, workplaces, and communities. If you are interested in joining us for the walk you can sign up, and if you can not join us on April 27 you can still donate. All donations are welcome and appreciated.

Wind Symphony Spring Concert: Scenes of Summer

Scenes of Summer is the theme of the upcoming Wind Symphony Spring Concert. As the semester draws to an end, we begin to think about warmer days, celebrations and festivals, and for some students, going home. This concert celebrates all things summer, featuring pieces such as Summer Dances by Brian Balmages, As Summer Was Just Beginning by Larry Daehn, and the fun march, The Purple Carnival arranged by Frank Erickson. This concert is unique in that it features some of our student composers and conductors.

Definition of Discipleship

As the pastor of Children & Family Discipleship here at Pioneer, I consider discipleship imperative. I have spent much time reading, thinking, and talking about discipleship. So, you can imagine how I felt when I was recently asked what my definition of discipleship is. I fumbled around, attempting to incorporate all the different elements of discipleship. Since that conversation, I have thoughtfully pondered my definition; here it is. Discipleship must include several key components: relationship, transformation, equipping, and evangelism.
