Babel in the Making

This winter I read through Jacques Doukhan’s new commentary, Seventh-day Adventist International Bible Commentary: Genesis. And in his fascinating description of the Tower of Babel event (Genesis 11) I wonder if we find the antecedent to (or at least the seeds for) what is happening to this nation even as I write.

Teacher Appreciation Week

Teacher Appreciation Week is in May, and we hope you won't forget the many volunteers who give of their time each week to prepare wonderful lessons for each child to learn about Jesus and His love. Soup for Students Thank You

Thank you to everyone who brought soup, volunteered to serve and clean up, and made pizza during the “Soup for Student” event. We had our largest turnout ever this year. What a blessing it is to let our students know that we love and care for them. Thank you once again for being generous and thoughtful. A big thanks goes to Dave and Judy Nelson for their coordination.

Foster Care Appreciation Dinner

May is National Foster Care Month. Traditionally foster parents in our county are treated to an Appreciation Dinner by DHHS. This year's dinner will be provided by God's Hands 4 Kids at PMC and will include court officials, DHHS workers, and others from the community, in addition to foster parents.

If you are interested in providing brownies or other food items please contact godshands4kids@gmail.com. Food donations can be dropped off at PMC on May 17 or 18.

The Tent

Join us for an evangelistic series hosted by the Jr. High Students of Ruth Murdoch Elementary School. The Tent is a beautiful picture of what the Body of Christ should look like. Each student uses his or her gifts and talents to share the Gospel as well as their love for Jesus. We welcome you to experience The Tent for yourself and see what the Gospel is all about.

The Gospel in Jeans

I have a young friend named Wandile Mthiyane, who is wrapping up his degree in architecture here at the university. Wandile is a South African born in the large seaside city of Durban. The story of how he got to Andrews is itself blog worthy. But the very short version is that with no money and a prayer he decided to ask the mayor of Durban for financial aid. Lo and behold he spots the mayor exiting a meeting, introduces himself, gets invited to sit down with the mayor, whereupon he shares his dream for designing inner city housing for low income South Africans.

Pre-College Division Group Concert

The Andrews University Department of Music Pre-College Division presents a Group Concert - students, ages 4 to 15, will be performing pieces by Vivaldi, Bach, Kreisler, Wieniawski, and much more! The group will also perform hymns that they filmed at 3ABN for the Kids Time show this past month. Admission is free and all are invited to attend the concert!
