The Tipping Point

Malcolm Gladwell, the celebrated young (at the time) writer whose first book, The Tipping Point, was a tour de force across the land, pushed his theory hard and well: social change behaves like an epidemic. “Ideas and products and messages and behaviors spread just like viruses do” (7). Think geometric progression—1 doubles to 2, 2 doubles to 4, 4 doubles to 8, and so on. “We need to prepare ourselves for the possibility that sometimes big changes follow from small events, and that sometimes these changes can happen very quickly” (11).

Pioneer’s Main Office Entrance Closed until Further Notice

Due to construction as part of Renovate 2.0 the awning entrance will be closed during the week until further notice.

Please plan to use the lower-level welcome center entrance for access to the Sanctuary, Children’s Sabbath Schools, and the Teen Loft. Please use the entrance near the Andreasen Center for Wellness to access the Youth Chapel and Collegiate Sabbath School.

Thank you for your support and flexibility as we progress through this project.

Mentors for Foster Kids - Love on the Move

God's Hands 4 Kids has been asked to coordinate finding mentors who will show friendship to foster teens. There currently is a need for a mentor/friend for a teen boy who is in a residential home on the east side of the state. He has no family and no contact with anyone in the community. Building a supportive caring relationship with a mentor is needed. This would be done virtually or through texting or by phone. Not looking for a lot of time commitment. More information available to those interested.

Would you sacrifice $35 to help a Pathfinder in Zambia?

What could you sacrifice that was $35? Skipping one or two dinners out? Not buying that pair of jeans or a pair of shoes this month? Very Important!!! We have to turn in the order by April 30th to get them in time so email me how many you are sponsoring, trecartin@andrews.edu. Thank you.
